Get up and get active to lower your risk of heart disease
Skinny jeans and bikinis aren’t the only reasons to hit the gym. The fact is, exercise is a must for overall wellness — and it’s especially critical for maintaining your cardiovascular health. By lowering your blood pressure, improving your cholesterol levels and limiting weight gain, physical activity can reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke by as much as 29 percent.
That’s why this Heart Month, we won’t be celebrating sitting down. UVA Club Red is gearing up for a fitness-filled February, so whether you enjoy yard work or jogging, hiking or CrossFit®, we want you to join us in our quest to move more.
