Red Wine Poached Pears with Vanilla Yogurt

Ingredients

Makes 4 Servings

  • 4 semi-ripe pears, peeled, stems on
  • ½ bottle of red wine (or more)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • Vanilla yogurt

Directions

  • Put pears in a sauce pot and cover with wine; add sugar.
  • Simmer for 30 minutes or until pears are tender.
  • Let sit in wine to deepen color.
  • Cut pear in half and gently scoop out the center (seeds).
  • Serve with vanilla yogurt.
